Congratulations to Giandria Green (left), Jashayla Blackmon, Ca'Liyah Lee, Maurice McFarlane, Rick Osney and Nate Battle (not pictured)

When Club members are asked what their favorite part of their Boys & Girls Clubs experience is, the vast majority say it's the staff who welcome them with open arms every day after school. Caring mentors and role models are at the heart of our six Boys & Girls Club locations. These professionals are committed to making a difference in the lives of the children and teens we serve on a daily basis. Whether a Club member needs assistance with a homework assignment or a shoulder to lean on, Club professionals empower and inspire youth through meaningful connections, award-winning programs and ongoing encouragement. They bring out the best in Club members by understanding where they come from and helping them realize their full potential.

Club professionals are trained in implementing educational, developmental and recreational programs that help children and teens accomplish their goals. Staff are committed to providing opportunities to young people and delivering a safe, fun and positive environment for members. Staff lead by example, teaching members to be upstanding citizens, so that when young people leave the Boys & Girls Clubs, they take positive values with them into the community.

Our organization is proud to recognize the following employees for being named their Boys & Girls Club's Staff of the Month:

  • Nate Battle, a counselor who has worked at the Gene Matthews Boys & Girls Club for four months and goes above and beyond to give children access to enriching academic and social activities;
  • Jashayla Blackmon, a counselor who has worked at the Arcadia Boys & Girls Club for two months and is constantly researching new and exciting ways to engage her members in various program areas both intellectually and artistically;
  • Giandria Green, a counselor who has been with the Roy McBean Boys & Girls Club for one year and regularly creates new and interactive games that help Club members practice healthy habits and build leadership skills;
  • Ca'Liyah Lee, who has worked at the Newtown Estates Park Boys & Girls Club for three years, and was recently promoted to a paraprofessional position for her dedication to our Club members' academic success;
  • Maurice McFarlane, who has been the Teen Coordinator at the Robert and Joan Lee Boys & Girls Club for six months and enthusiastically empowers teens through a variety of activities including We Own Fridays events; and
  • Rick Osney, a counselor who has been at the Lee Wetherington Boys & Girls Club for almost four years and advocates for children's literacy programs, and celebrates Club members for reaching every milestone, big or small, on their path to success.

Congratulations to these outstanding staff members! If you or someone you know is interested in a rewarding career that helps the next generation of leaders achieve their full potential, contact Morgan Riendeau, Human Resource Generalist, by calling 941-366-3911 or sending a resume to .
