Eight-year-old Gavin Azor from the Gene Matthews Boys & Girls Club in North Port was recently named the National Winner in Graphic Design by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Gavin has been a Club member since kindergarten and has always enjoyed participating in art activities.

Gavin completed his award-winning piece, which is a comic strip titled "Test Stress," using Photoshop. The artwork was submitted to national judges for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Fine Arts and Digital Art Competition, and selected among hundreds for an award in Graphic Design.

"I am so proud of myself," said Gavin. "I put a lot of work into my comic strip."

Gavin will be attending Imagine Elementary School this fall as a third grader. His favorite subject is math and he aspires to be an astronaut when he grows up.
