Our 2026 Champions for Children gala will be held at The Ora. The evening will feature a reception, a delicious three-course dinner catered by Michael’s On East, live auctions and raffles, and inspiring performances by Boys & Girls Club members. The gala attire is cocktail, with black tie optional for those who wish to elevate their look.

All proceeds from Champions for Children will ensure youth across Sarasota and DeSoto Counties have access to award-winning programs that foster academic success, strong character and leadership, healthy lifestyles, and career readiness. About Louis and Gloria Flanzer

Louis and Gloria Flanzer dedicated their lives to philanthropy and believed deeply in the responsibility to support and strengthen the communities around them.

Originally from New York, Louis and Gloria first fell in love with Sarasota during a business trip in the 1970s. They went on to spend decades living on Longboat Key, becoming connected to the people and organizations that make our community special.

Lifelong philanthropists, Louis and Gloria shared a passion for creating meaningful change and helping others thrive. Through their generosity and vision, they established a legacy of giving that continues through the Louis and Gloria Flanzer Philanthropic Trust.

The Flanzers believed that strong communities are built by ensuring individuals and families have access to the resources, support, and opportunities they need to succeed. When the need for an expanded Boys & Girls Club in Arcadia was identified, the trustees of the Louis and Gloria Flanzer Philanthropic Trust mobilized to provide the lead contribution that helped create the Louis and Gloria Flanzer Boys & Girls Club. This significant investment revitalized the campus, transforming it into a safe and welcoming space where youth can learn, grow, and thrive.
