On March 1st, sports celebrities, golf enthusiasts and philanthropists united at the Sixth Annual Archie Griffin Celebrity Golf Classic to accomplish one thing: raise money for the members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties.
And what a success it was. We are pleased to announce the event raised more than $161,000 for the Club.
“The generous support from the Concession Charities, Archie Griffin and our donors helps us assure success is within reach of every child we serve, putting them on the track to graduate high school with a plan for the future,”said Bill Sadlo, President and CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties.
Held at the Concession Charities at the Concession Golf Club, the two day event consisted of an elegant pairings party followed by a golf tournament.
Notable figures participating this year included Urban Meyer, Clark Kellogg, Keith Byars, Michael Doss, Robert Smith and Andre Reed.
