The Robert and Joan Lee Boys & Girls Club in Venice is conducting CareerLaunch, a national Boys & Girls Club program this summer.
CareerLaunch encourages Club members ages 13 to 18 to assess their skills and interests, explore careers, make sound educational decisions and prepare to join our nation's work force. CareerLaunch funding is made possible through The Gap Foundation. Fifteen teen members participate in this program. They meet weekly and guest speakers from different career fields have been booked to discuss their profession and work/educational history. Our CareerLaunch group also were invited to spend a day at Camp Old Navy.
During their time at Old Navy they went through a typical day with the employees. Our members learned how to work the Sales Floor, Registers, Fitting Room, and Shipment Procedures. They also went through mock interviews with store management.
