Roscelyn Guenther, Director of Program Services for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties, was selected for the Leadership Sarasota Class of 2022 by the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce. Roscelyn said, “Being a part of Leadership Sarasota is a phenomenal opportunity providing an additional avenue to impact our community and work alongside other amazing professionals.” Leadership Sarasota represents a diverse group of candidates including business leaders, professionals and academics, directors, and staff of community service organizations and civic associations, managers from government agencies, and community servants.
As Director of Program Services, Roscelyn oversees the academic and prevention programs for BGCSDC. She is also the supervising lead for the organization’s 21st Century Community Learning Centers. She earned her PMP (Program Management Professional) certification, holds a “Trainer of Trainers” certification from the National Trainers Initiative through Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and has served on multiple youth development committees and task forces. Roscelyn was hired by Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties in 2000 and acts as a resource to the Clubs and BGCSDC departments. Roscelyn ensures all requirements of a program are executed with quality and care. She also acts as the point person for community collaborations and special projects.
Leadership Sarasota provides a way to further develop professionals and bring awareness to the inter-workings of the county. Roscelyn shared, “When advocacy is at an all-time high, this program allows professionals like myself to be empowered and create the support needed for our community.” Roscelyn has advanced the work of BGCSDC for over 20 years and is looking forward to her continued growth as a leader with Leadership Sarasota.
